I Wear My Hiking Shoes

I wear my hiking shoes.
They are not really shoes, because I do not like shoes. They are my feet. But when my person says, “Do you want to go hiking?” my feet turn into hiking shoes instantly. This is magic. You can tell because I spin in a circle and my ears do a thing.
When I wear my hiking shoes, I am brave. I walk tall, even though I am still short. Every rock is suspicious. Every leaf has a story. Every smell is an email sent directly to my nose, and I must read all of them.
